Dear Members of Summit Heights Fellowship,

After a 12-month process of praying, evaluating and asking some hard questions concerning our staff and elders, we have arrived at what we believe is a new season at Summit Heights.  After a lengthy time of prayer and conversation, Allen Sanders, who has led our worship for more than six years, has determined that he will remain an elder and step aside from the worship leadership position.  Our new by-laws state that the only elder permitted to be a paid staff member is the lead teaching pastor.  Allen will continue to serve as a Summit Heights elder and shepherd the Freedom Ministry he is passionate about, and he will play with the worship team on a rotation basis.  He and his bride Rhonda are not leaving the church, as he explained in his resignation announcement November 6, 2011, and we are so grateful for his service and continued ministry in our church.

As many of you know, Stephen Bailey has led our worship on several occasions. On January 8, 2012, he will be with us again to share his testimony and lead worship.  The Elders have spent more than 20 hours with Stephen and his wife Tracy, and we feel that God has moved us to unanimously recommend that he be confirmed as Lead Worship Pastor of Summit Heights Fellowship. Per our by-laws, the congregational vote concerning Stephen will be held after the service on Sunday, January 15, 2012. We meet every Sunday morning at 10:20 AM for worship at 2340 South FM 2869, Hawkins, Texas.

(Our building is located right across from Bank Texas in the old Holly Lake Hardware Building.  For more information call 903-769-5052.) 

Our worship is contemporary and live, full band with vocals singing songs you hear on Christian radio each week.
